On the first Saturday of each month, we select one standout ring from our established catalog – something that deserves a second look.

ISLAND WOOD
Island Wood has never been in much of a hurry. It combines tropical hardwood, abalone shell, and black tungsten carbide in a design inspired by escape, adventure, and occasionally ignoring the clock.
Relaxed but substantial. Colorful but restrained. Familiar yet somehow unexpected.
WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL
Island Wood has been in our catalog for years, but it’s one of those rings I find myself pulling out of the case whenever someone asks to see something different. The abalone gets all the attention at first. That’s fair. It practically glows when the light hits it.
But the wood is what makes the design work. It gives a warmth that both enhances and balances the bright colors of the abalone. Together they strike a balance that neither could manage alone.
Add black tungsten carbide to the mix and you end up with something that’s hard to categorize. Not flashy. Not conservative. Just rich in color and style.
Some rings look their best from across the room. Island Wood gets better the closer you get.

OUT OF OFFICE
Island Wood comes from a design tradition that’s easy to recognize. Tropical wood, abalone shell, and a little bit of escape built into the design’s character.
What’s exceptional is the scale. This is more than a vacation souvenir, it is an outsized embodiment of what’s possible when you dream big and craft bigger.
Island Wood offers an undeniable distraction to your busy life and a constant reminder to stay focused on what matters to you most.

MATERIAL & BUILD
Island Wood may borrow its appearance from the tropics, but beneath the surface it’s every bit a King Rings ring.
The foundation is black tungsten carbide, giving the ring a satisfying weight that tends to surprise people the first time they pick it up. The wood and abalone provide the character. The tungsten does the heavy lifting.
Inside, a Comfort Fit profile keeps things smooth and easy to wear for long stretches. Outside, the polished finish brings out the depth of both the hardwood and shell, especially when natural light gets involved.
Like all of our tungsten carbide rings, Island Wood won’t tarnish, fade, or demand much attention. Just slip it on and get on with whatever adventure comes next.
Island Wood combines tropical hardwood, abalone shell, and black tungsten carbide in a design that feels equally at home on a secluded beach, a mountain overlook, or anywhere else you’d rather be than sitting in a meeting.
We sat down with this month’s prime attraction to get a feel for his best qualities.
THE INTERVIEW
KR: Let’s start simple. Who are you?
IW: You know me. I’m that vacation you had that you remember as vividly as the sand in your suit. Personally, I’m not a fan of swimsuits.
KR: You seem pretty relaxed. Is that your natural state?
IW: What are you suggesting? I’m chill, sure, but “hard wood” is also my natural state. Let’s stay focused on that.
KR: Are you the adventurous type?
IW: My friends think so. I have a look that says I’ve been places and seen things.
KR: Be honest. How do you feel about schedules?
IW: I am all about precision and delivering results. That said, I’ve gone full circle and developed a latitude problem.
KR: You strike me as someone who takes the scenic route.
IW: That’s how I roll.
KR: What’s your idea of a perfect day?
IW: Beach. Sun. Drinks in my umbrella. Wait … maybe a little tipsy.
KR: Do you prefer planning or spontaneity?
IW: Spontaneity every time! I mean, I’m always at the ready and will never leave you hanging.
KR: You seem like a distraction waiting to happen.
IW: SQUIRREL!
KR: What would you say to someone who’s overdue for a vacation?
IW: I don’t know, I can’t relate. Maybe, “did you know you can book flights online?”.
KR: Are you trying to get people into trouble?
IW: No, I’m not. I just really want to find a guy who is into me.
KR: Do you ever feel out of place?
IW: Sometimes, but mostly on hot days. It takes a little adjusting.
KR: What do you bring to the table besides good looks?
IW: I’m exceptionally good at the “warm embrace”.
KR: Final question. What should people expect?
IW: I’m a contradiction that makes total sense. Low stress and elevated pressure. A constant reminder to forget where you are. Organic and industrial. Warm and cool. Familiar yet somehow totally surprising.
