Fitting Guide
Discover Your Tailor Fit
This guide will show you how to use your sizing rings, perform safe fit testing, and confidently determine the metal ring size that is just right for you.
Like a tailor refines a suit after taking measurements, the fitting process refines your size selection until the fit feels uniquely your own.
Proper fitting is about discovering the ideal balance of comfort and performance through real-world testing.
PERFORMANCE
Discover your ideal fit through safe testing and observation.
CONFIDENCE
Choose your final ring size based on real-world results, not guesswork.
Fitting Is Different Than Sizing
Sizing establishes a range. Fitting identifies the best ring within that range.
The goal is not to find a ring that matches a measurement. The goal is to find the smallest ring you can comfortably wear for its intended purpose.
The fitting process uses observation rather than calculation. Through a combination of safety checks and performance testing, you’ll gradually narrow the field until the answer becomes clear.
For many men, the difference between a ring that is merely wearable and a ring that truly performs can be surprisingly small. That’s why we recommend taking your time and fully testing the sizing rings before selecting a finished metal ring.
Step 1:
Get It On
Start Large
Before you can evaluate fit, you need to become comfortable putting the sizing rings on and taking them off. Don’t be discouraged if it feels awkward at first. Like most things, it gets easier with practice.
Start with one of the larger sizing rings and work your way down. Larger rings are easier to put on and remove, making them ideal for learning the process.
For best results, put sizing rings on while you are warm and flaccid.
C-Rings
- Hold the ring beneath your scrotum and use your other hand to pull one testicle, along with as much surrounding skin as possible, through the ring.
- From above, push the second testicle down through the ring.
- Fold your penis downward, pass the head through the ring, and pull it through until you are completely inside the ring.
A small amount of lubricant can help with the final step. Many customers find that warm water in the shower makes the process considerably easier.
Glans Rings
A glans ring sits directly behind the head of the penis and is generally easier to put on than a C-Ring.
Guide the head of your penis through the ring and gently pull it through from the opposite side. A small amount of lubricant may help, although too much can sometimes make the process more difficult.
Like any new skill, this becomes easier with experience.
Important
When using sizing rings, you accept responsibility for your own comfort and safety. While the methods described here are considered safe when performed properly, you are always in the best position to judge what feels appropriate for your body.
Don’t do anything that feels scary, painful, or foolish.

Step 2:
Safety Check
The Three Finger Rule of Thumb (C-Rings)
The Three Finger Rule of Thumb is a quick safety check before things get hard.
Some men who are new to rigid rings worry about getting trapped or selecting a ring that is dangerously small. This simple assessment helps establish a reasonable starting point and creates expectations of probable outcome.
It is important to understand what this test can and cannot tell you.
The Three Finger Rule is a screening tool. It helps narrow the field, but it does not identify your ideal ring size. For that, you’ll need to continue on to Performance Testing.
With your palm facing your belly, hook your index finger beneath the top of the ring and work it between your body and the ring. Continue until you reach, but do not pass, your second knuckle. This should require no lube. Repeat the process using two fingers side-by-side, then three fingers side-by-side.
What is your maximum finger count?
1 Finger : Tight
Tight fit and may result in aggressive restriction of blood flow while erect. It may be difficult to lose the erection, which will happen slowly. In terms of hardness, this ring size may give you the maximum effect but at the possible expense of your own pleasure.
2 Fingers : Right
Firm fit and will likely result in moderate restriction of blood flow. This size may give your erection a gentle but noticeable boost; harder and more persistent. Some discoloration is normal, the state of your erection will follow the state of your arousal.
A two-finger fit is typically the best place to begin Performance Testing.
3 Fingers : Loose
Loose fit and easier to put on and remove. You will look and feel great wearing a King Ring this size but it may not give your erection much benefit. Super comfortable when erect and without much discoloration. Not a good choice for casual wear as it may work its way off, then down and out your pant leg. In other words, an excellent conversation starter.
Important
Fingers are a blunt tool and vary in size among individuals. The Three Finger Rule helps establish a continuation guide, but it is not precise enough to determine your final ring size.
You’re getting close, but the most important step is still ahead.
Step 3:
Performance Testing
Discover Your Lower Limit
This is where the fitting process becomes most effective.
C-Rings
Starting with a two-finger fit, become erect in the sizing ring and evaluate how the ring actually performs. Your end goal is to identify the smallest ring you can comfortably wear while erect.
To do that, you’ll need to find your lower size threshold – which requires you identify the ring size which is too small. Stay with us
Work your way down through each sizing ring, paying close attention to the erection itself, not how the plastic feels against your skin. Some discoloration is normal, you want an effect which is beneficial but not excessive.
At some point you will discover a ring which produces excessive discoloration, a dull ache, or robs you of pleasure in some way. This is your “too small” size.
You want a metal ring one size up from the “too small” size.
Engineered for Safety
It is VERY unlikely you would become trapped in a sizing ring but, admittedly, we are suggesting you push the boundary. For this reason, our rings are engineered with a breakaway feature to alleviate any fear of entrapment.
The goal is confidence, not anxiety. We want you to fully explore the fitting process without fear of getting stuck.

Glans Rings
Start with the largest ring and work your way down. Observe how the ring feels and behaves for you while both flaccid and erect.
If you ever plan to wear the metal glans ring while erect, get the smallest size you can comfortably wear while erect.
If you only plan to wear the metal ring casually, get the smallest size which does not restrict the flow of urine.
If you are lucky, both these ring sizes are the same, this is true for many men. Others have multiple ring sizes for different uses and some men wear one size but for only one purpose.
Step 4:
Choose Your Ring
Choosing Your First Metal King Ring
You have done the difficult part.
Most men arrive thinking the challenge is measuring themselves. In reality, the challenge is discovering how a ring actually performs.
By working through the fitting process, you now know something a measuring tape could never tell you: how much pressure feels right on your body.
That knowledge is more valuable than any measurement.
We generally recommend selecting a metal ring one size larger than the sizing ring you identified as “too small.” For most men, this represents the best balance of comfort, performance, and versatility.
This is no longer a guess.
It is your fit.

For Collectors
Men With Multiple Rings
Some gentlemen with multiple rings step down to the too-small size for casual only wear.
For example, Tim’s preferred size for extended sessions with his partner is a 50mm; it fits great, is very comfortable, and gives his erection a gentle but persistent boost without being overly aggressive. He can comfortably wear a 50mm ring casually all day, but it is prone to slip some, especially on hot days.
One size down, 48mm – Tim’s “too small” size – stays put much better during casual wear and when his partner surprises him with unexpected attention, the 48mm does its job very well – a little too well – and so he limits his activity to a “quicky”. He doesn’t get trapped in a 48mm, it is just pretty uncomfortable after 10 minutes fully erect.
Note that you should always fully vet ring sizes in breakaway plastic sizing rings before slipping into metal. Your judgement, your result, be safe.
